As the Dorm Senator representing Beall, I plan on advocating for new additions to the bathrooms and large-scale hall events, such as a Hall Olympics event. Hi everyone! My name is Monserrat Castrejon and I will be serving as your Bryan Dorm Senator this year. I am from Red Springs, North Carolina and used to attend PSRC Early College. Hey everyone! I’m Chloe from Greensboro, North Carolina, and I used to attend the Early College at Guilford. For SG, I plan to make more successful mental health initiatives as much as I can, working to uplift the student body and be a friend that others can rely on whether it be for the campus, hanging out, or confiding in.  Along with these initiatives, I wish to make the campus an even more exciting place to live, making sure students, despite living at the school, can make campus their home rather than a simple workplace, acting as both a voice for my grade and a member who can create even more exciting events for students to experience! Hey there! My name is Manny Price. I'm a current junior from Charlotte and attended Mountain Island Charter before coming to NCSSM. As Junior Senator, my goals are to advocate for practice spaces at external facilities in response to weather and spacing limitations, strengthen connections between alumni and juniors, and revitalize Happy Half! I currently serve on the Outreach and Student Affairs Committees. In my (rare) free time, you can find me playing soccer, swimming, running, drumming, dancing, listening to music, chatting with people, or joining pickup sports. Hello everyone! My name is Kush Mehta and I am from Fayetteville, North Carolina, having attended Terry Sanford High School. Hello! I am Tahalia! I was born and raised in Jamaica for 12 years but now live in Mebane North Carolina! I am so excited to be a part of Student Government this year and work in my role as Co-director of Community Relations! Remaining ignorant of the local issues around us is simply unacceptable considering the impacts NCSSM as a school had and has on the surrounding community. I hope to strengthen the student-community bond through service projects, educational opportunities, and advocacy efforts that work to support and give back to the Durham community. Hey y’all! My name is Adrian Bedeley and I will serve as your Director of State Relations this year. As your Director of State Relations, I will act as a liaison between NCSSM and the broader UNCASG. In this position, I aim to establish a DEI initiative across all UNC campuses. I am also focused on empowering student leaders with the training and legislative knowledge needed to excel in their roles. Additionally, my passion for environmental sustainability, sparked by an Environmental Science J-Term, drives me to support initiatives that back student-led sustainability projects. My commitment to social justice, student empowerment, and environmental protection defines my approach to creating positive change.

I hope to dedicate my efforts this year to collaborating with other UNC system schools to address concerns in DEI and sustainability. I plan to enhance inclusivity at NCSSM by facilitating open forums on race, ethnicity, and sexual orientation issues while collaborating with the Chief Diversity Officer and 3CDC leadership to address and resolve these concerns. My goal is to ensure every student feels heard, valued, and supported. In my free time, I love overanalyzing films, crocheting, and spending copious amounts of money on iced lattes. Hi! My name is Pranav Mettu and I'm from Rocky Mount NC. I'm super excited to serve on NCSSM's Student Government, as I have many ideas to work towards a better future for NCSSM. Through my role as Food Services Liaison, I hope to create more food options for those with dietary restrictions/needs and act upon student feedback about NCSSM's food services. In addition, I hope to develop a system in which the PFM has access to fresher ingredients from neighboring farms and markets around Durham, in order to create healthier meals for the NCSSM community. I hope to accomplish these goals by working with our cafeteria staff, managers, and industry professionals. I love playing various instruments like the Viola and playing basketball with friends. Hi! My name is Amy Cho, and I am from Southwest Guilford High School in High Point. I will be your PCC Liaison for the 2024-2025 school year. My role is to connect the counseling department with the student body. I will work with other peer counseling coordinators, the counseling department, and the mental health committee to develop activities. I am from Concord, NC which is a little north of Charlotte-- there really isn't that much to do over there to be honest. I love math, journaling, and playing pickleball with my friends.
